The Mint Directors Association (MDA) was established in June 2022 by 19 Member Mints. The broader industry now exchanges information and ideas as the International Mint Directors Network (IMDN), which was previously the Mint Directors Conference (MDC).
The original MDC was founded in 1962 by the directors of 10 Western European mints: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
The MDA is a new entity, representing 20 Member Mints:
MDA, with a public sector interest, promotes awareness of the mint industry’s role, contribution and significance. It also works collaboratively with Member Mints on the use of coinage within their nations to ensure optimised returns to their governments and their communities.
Membership of the MDA is by subscription and available to all national mints.
MDC has become the IMDN, continuing to provide a forum for national mints to exchange information and ideas.
Membership of the IMDN is free and available to all national mints.
The governing body of the IMDN is the Executive Committee, comprising the President, Vice President and Executive Director.
